Greyplains is not a D&D 5e supplement. However, this table serves to bring the Greyplains Luck mechanics to D&D 5e.
The way this table works is: whenever a Player asks their DM a yes or no question about the world (such as “is there a chandelier in this room?”) and the DM doesn’t know, they can ask the Player to make a Luck Check against a Challenge the GM sets based on how likely/unlikely the answer to the question is yes/no. The Player rolls 1d100 to determine which Skill they use to roll the answer to the question. Once the Skill is determined, they roll that Skill Check (1d20) with their Abilities + Proficiency.
The GM can also call upon a Luck Check for various reasons.
The Skills on the table are weighted inversely to how “good” they are in an average game. Skills like “Stealth” and “Persuasion” have a much lower chance of being called upon than “Nature” or “Performance.” This serves as a “shadow-buff” to roleplaying-focused skills. This way, picking fun Skills does not totally detract from your Character’s gameplay viability (it could, in fact, enhance it).
